The Register of Cultural Organisations (ROCO) is maintained under Subdivision 30‐F of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 and is administered by the Department of Communications and the Arts.

In order to give the Department of Social Services an appreciation of “Janaranjani”, we have given details of our objectives together with details of our activities. Janaranjani’s objectives are:

  • Inform and create awareness within the local communities about Telugu and related Indian languages, and culture (including promotion of fine arts, heritage via radio and other media broadcasting).
  •  Encourage the active participation of youth and children in broadcasting and other associated activities.
  •  Inform the local community about its activities, spread its culture, arts and heritage.
  •  Promote similar activities with other like minded community organisations.

Janaranjani commenced broadcasting on 8th April 2013 with the help of 2 N.B.C @90.1 FM. Currently, it is the only Indian program that is on air from 2 N.B.C. Janaranjani aims at achieving the above objectives through broadcasting @ 2 N.B.C. 90.1 FM, located in Kogarah, every Saturday from 12.00 pm to 1.00 pm. To do this, Janaranjani has a small group of twelve dedicated, experienced broadcasters who volunteer their time and experience. Majority of these broadcasters are women.

We have plans to induct youth from community, and in this context, we have commenced identifying potential broadcasters. To date we have identified four youth members in 2015-2016 and further intend to extend our activities by drawing at least three or four youth members into radio broadcasting for 2017.  Our aim is to train these broadcasters formally and informally, formally by providing training on the panel and informally training operationally with the support from the senior broadcasters
